Holdenfold Stud are proud to announce the arrival of our first two foals of the season. Firstly a beautiful dark bay/black filly by Ampere out of HFD's PROK mare Alifra (3 days old on left of photo). Secondly a gorgeous light bay colt by Oliver HFD out of HFD's advanced dressage mare Samantha HFD (on right of photo at 2 days old). More info on the foals can be found on the Horses for Sale page. The bustling crowd created a great atmosphere - 34 stallions entered and just eight withdrawals. With Mat providing informed captivating commentary, the stallions danced to up beat music to a great crowd as you can see from the video clip below of Mooiman hfd during his performance......I pay tribute to the organisers, the audience and the stallion owners - a great night for everyone! The Oldenburg grading was held again at our stud on the 8th September, upon which all our foals recieved premiums. Particular praise was bestowed on black filly CDS Sapphire (pictured) who is by Santana out of a Weltmeyer mare. She was awarded a 8.5 for her trot and 9 for canter. This sale is open only to British Bred foals and will be limited to approximately 30 entries. Last year's sale saw a strong demand for quality individuals with Dressage and Show Jumping foals realising between £7000 and £12,000. Brightwells are committed to providing British breeders with an international platform to sell their horses. Following a rare invitation for a KWPN Approved Stallion to be invited back to the KWPN Stallion Gradings in Den Bosch, Holland, on the basis of his International achievements. Mooiman HFD and Angela Crane gave a demonstration in front of 15,000 spectators and were complemented on their Movement and Paces by the Dutch. It is a rare occasion for a stallion to be invited back and an even rarer occasion for a rider of another nationality other than Dutch to ride in Den Bosch.
Following the demonstration Mooiman HFD and Angela Crane received a outstanding write up in the Dutch magazine In De Strengen, which is sent to all KWPN breeders World Wide. Denver (Oliver x Ferro x Voltare) Colt has been named the Top Dressage Colt at the end of the 2008 UKWPN Keurings. After serveral UKWPN Keurings across the UK, Denver was placed 1st with a score of 73 at Myerscough Keuring which lead to the National Title.
Denver also got the 2nd highest score in the UK in the Show Jumping section of the British Equestrian Federation Finals 2009 Well Done to owner/breeder Carole Rolph |
